Criminal Records is a free browser-based mafia MMO. You commit crimes, run operations, join clans, own companies and objects, trade on the marketplace, and compete on leaderboards.

Crimes, attacks, hookers, operations, marketplace sales, companies, objects, streets, territory, organised heists, Grand Theft and achievements all reward cash and/or XP. Deposit cash in the bank to protect it from player attacks.

No. One person, one account. Extra accounts for an unfair advantage violate the rules and can lead to a ban. Staff may use IP and login logs to investigate.

If you are not logged in, use Contact on the homepage. If you are logged in, open a helpdesk ticket and include steps to reproduce. Do not exploit bugs; abuse can result in account action.

Create or join a company when you meet that type's rank and startup cost. Employees generate customers each hour; earnings split 50/50 to company cash and company bank. After login, see Information → Company information.

Buy health for $50 per percent (up to 100%). Restoring to at least 99% health in one purchase unlocks the full-health achievement. You can also pay the full hospital bill for a recently killed friend, clan mate or company mate.

Failed crimes, attacks, streets and other activities can send you to jail for a random time. While jailed you can still open a limited set of pages — the jailed screen lists them.

Rules are on the homepage and, after login, under Information → Rules. They cover guidelines, important rules and zero-tolerance offences. Breaking them can lead to court, fines or bans.

When staff start a new round, gameplay progress (cash, rank, clans, companies, inventory and similar) is reset. Your login, email, password and account preferences are kept so you can play the new round with the same account.

Yes. You can play for free. Gold and premium extras exist but are optional and not required to progress.

You lose cash on hand and go to the hospital at 0% health. Bank balance, inventory, garage, operations and rank progress remain. Bodyguards and the safehouse reduce murder risk.

You need the Associate player rank (2,000 XP) to create a clan. Joining another clan depends on that clan's requirements. Clans share income, diplomacy, a shop, forum and a donation sheet. After login, see Information → Clan information.

After you log in, open Information → Tutorial for the step-by-step guide, or restart the interactive tutorial from that page.

Objects are country-based businesses: bullet factories, red light districts and casino games. Owners earn when other players use them. After you log in, see Information → Objects.

Gold can be earned from events and some activities, and may be bought when checkout is available. Spend it on premium days, power, cash and more via the Gold Exchange. Premium unlocks tags, emojis and extra tools; it is not required to play.

If you are not logged in, use Contact on the homepage. If you are logged in, open a helpdesk ticket. Include your username for account issues. Moderators and admins reply through tickets. Staff never ask for your password.

The Rules (guidelines, important rules and zero-tolerance offences) form part of this agreement. Breaking them can lead to court, fines, loss of progress or a ban, including a permanent ban.

Staff may review logs, tickets and reports to enforce the Rules. Staff decisions on cheats, multi-accounting and abuse are final within the game, without affecting rights you may have under the law.

Optional gold and premium.

Gold and premium may be bought when checkout is available, through the payment provider we enable. Those providers have their own terms. Virtual gold, premium days and in-game items have no cash value outside the game and are not refundable except where consumer law requires a refund.

Uptime, maintenance and round resets.

The game may be unavailable during maintenance, bugs or attacks. Staff may start a new round that resets gameplay progress while keeping your login. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

How these terms can change.

We may update these terms, the Rules or the Privacy statement. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued play after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the game and ask us to close your account.

Who may play, how many accounts you may have, and your responsibility for the account.

You must be old enough under the law of your country to use an online game with crime, violence, drugs and adult themes. One person may hold one account. Extra accounts for an unfair advantage can lead to a ban.

You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens on your account. Staff never ask for your password. Do not share, sell or trade accounts.

We may limit how many accounts can be created from the same IP address, and we may use login and registration logs to investigate multi-accounting.

In-game cash, gold, items and progress.

Cash, gold, items, companies, objects, clans and other in-game progress exist only inside the game. You do not own them as property outside the game. We may change, remove or reset them, including at the end of a round.

Buying or selling game accounts or in-game assets for real money (except official gold checkout we enable) is forbidden and can lead to a ban.

Forum posts, messages, profile text and images.

You keep ownership of text and images you post, but you grant us a licence to display them in the game (profiles, forum, messages) so other players can see them. Do not post illegal content, personal data of others, or material you do not have the right to share. Staff may remove content that breaks the Rules.

Limits on our legal responsibility.

The game is provided as a free entertainment service with optional gold or premium purchases. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, lost virtual items, downtime, or disputes between players. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to exclude (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

We use an essential session cookie (and a server-side session) so login, security and the game can function.

First-party preference cookies may store language, theme, font, text size, game art and background animation (typically up to one year) so the site looks the way you chose.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Some in-game chat layout is stored only in your browser sessionStorage.

How long we keep account and log data, including round end.

Data is stored on the servers that host this game. Account data is kept while the account is active.

After a ban or deletion request, some logs may be kept for a limited time for security, disputes and legal duties.

Inactive accounts may be removed after a long period with no login, as announced by staff.

When a round ends, gameplay progress is reset. We keep identity and preference fields needed to log you into the next round (such as username, email, password hash, language and theme).

Access, correction, deletion and other rights.

You may request access to or correction of your personal data via the helpdesk (logged in) or Contact on the homepage.

While logged in you can update email, password, language and many preferences in account settings.

You may request erasure of your account, subject to game rules and legal duties. Some security logs may be kept as described above.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA or UK), you may also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing, request a copy of data you provided, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Privacy questions: logged-in players can use the helpdesk; anyone can use Contact on the homepage. The footer Discord link is a separate service with its own privacy policy. Staff never ask for your password.

For urgent account hijack, mark the ticket as high priority (or say so in Contact) and include your username.

Personal and gameplay data stored for your account or a support request.

Account data: username, email address, hashed password, language, theme, timezone, font and text size, game art, background animation, notification preferences, and an optional referral username.

Gameplay data: progress, messages, forum posts, bank and transaction logs, IP address at registration and login (used to limit accounts per IP and to investigate multi-accounting), and moderation logs.

Optional profile data: testimony settings, tags, colors, profile text and images you upload.

Support data: helpdesk tickets, attachments and staff notes; homepage Contact form (name, email, subject and message).

Emails we send when needed for the service: address verification, password reset, and replies to Contact or helpdesk messages.

We do not sell personal data. We share it only as needed to run the game.

Payment providers when you complete a gold or premium purchase.

We may disclose data if required by law, or to staff who moderate the game. If you use Discord from our footer link, Discord processes that under its own terms.

If you buy gold or premium, checkout is handled by the payment provider we enable (for example PayPal when it is active). We store order references and gold credited, not full card numbers.

Payment providers have their own privacy policies for checkout data.

How we protect accounts and what to report.

Passwords are stored hashed. Staff never ask for your password in helpdesk tickets or Contact messages.

Report suspicious login activity or account access through the helpdesk or Contact immediately.

Age, content rating and children.

The game includes crime, violence, drugs and adult themes. You must be old enough under the law of your country to use an online game with this content. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has registered, contact us so we can delete the account.

Fair-play rules for Criminal Records. Breaking them can lead to court, fines or a ban.

These Rules are part of your agreement with Criminal Records (together with the Terms of Service). Every player is expected to know and follow them. Sections are colour-coded by severity: blue guidelines, orange important rules, and red zero-tolerance offences that can lead to a ban or court visit.

Guidelines — expected behaviour and good sportsmanship.
Important — breaking these rules leads to warnings, fines, or temporary bans.
Zero tolerance — cheating, abuse, or exploitation; permanent ban possible.

These keep the game fun for everyone. Staff may step in if behaviour gets out of hand.

Treat other players and crew members with respect — in chat, messages, profiles, and the forum.
Keep language appropriate. Excessive swearing, slurs, or harassment is not welcome.
Play fair. Do not exploit bugs — report them through Contact or the helpdesk instead.
Do not spam chat, messages, forum posts, or helpdesk tickets.
English is the main language in public channels unless staff say otherwise.

Violations here can result in account restrictions, loss of progress, or time in the courthouse.

One person, one account. Multi-accounting to gain an unfair advantage is forbidden. Staff may use IP and login logs to investigate.
Do not share, sell, or trade accounts. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.
Do not impersonate staff, moderators, or other players.
Do not advertise other games, websites, or services without permission.
Marketplace and trade deals must be honoured. Scamming other players is punished.

These offences are taken extremely seriously and may result in a permanent ban.

Cheating, botting, scripting, or automating gameplay in any way.
Duplicating items, cash, gold or other assets, or exploiting economy bugs for personal gain.
Real-money trading (RMT) — buying or selling accounts or in-game assets for real currency, except official gold checkout we enable.
Hacking, DDoS, phishing, or any attempt to compromise accounts or the game.
Threats, doxing, or severe harassment inside or outside the game.
